Quest Description
In the quiet woodland haven of Rhosgobel, nestled among the whispering trees of the Vales of Anduin, an elven hunter named Rhovaniel arrives at the home of Radagast the Brown. The famed wizard, known for his deep bond with the natural world, has agreed to take Rhovaniel as his apprentice in the ancient arts of taming beasts, healing the land, and understanding the wisdom of the wild.

Radagast appears as a humble and eccentric figure, robed in earth-toned layers woven with leaf-like patterns and carrying a staff of gnarled wood etched with vines. His home is a chaotic garden of medicinal herbs, animal shelters, and woodland creatures roaming freely under his protection.

Rhovaniel is drawn to this place by a desire to heal the creeping corruption of her home in Mirkwood. With light-brown hair braided with green leaves, and clad in grey-green leather armor with gold accents, she is a skilled hunter who now seeks to become something more—a guardian of balance between the free peoples and the natural world.

Objectives

Assist Radagast in tending to his garden and gathering rare herbs
Rescue and soothe corrupted animals affected by the shadow near the forest edge
Cleanse polluted streams flowing from the highlands into the Anduin
Learn the fundamentals of beast-lore, healing draughts, and natural warding rituals

Key Characters

Radagast the Brown – Wise, eccentric, and deeply attuned to nature. He teaches through observation, intuition, and humility.
Rhovaniel – The questing elf who seeks to grow beyond the bow and blade, learning to listen, heal, and protect through knowledge.
Wildlife Companions – Birds, foxes, deer, and boars wander Rhosgobel. Several become involved in tasks and trials during her apprenticeship.

Setting

The quest takes place in and around Rhosgobel, a woodland sanctuary filled with flora, streams, and creatures in need of care. The surrounding forest shows signs of creeping corruption and lingering shadow. Mist drapes the undergrowth. Mushrooms, herbs, and moss grow thick in the shade. Animal trails crisscross the forest floor.

Completion Criteria

Rhovaniel has completed her apprenticeship by meeting the following criteria:

She successfully tamed wild creatures driven mad by shadow and restored them to harmony
She brewed her first major healing extract using Radagast’s recipe, without aid
Radagast declared her no longer a student, but a fellow steward of nature

Rhovaniel is free to wander Middle-Earth once more; Not only as a hunter, but as a guardian of life, bearing the knowledge and compassion learned under Radagast’s care.
