18th Anniversary Festival Year 1 Guide for Hunters and Wardens

The 18th Anniversary Festival is in full swing, and as a hunter who values efficiency in every adventure, I’ve prepared this guide to help fellow Hunters and Wardens swiftly navigate three of Year 1’s most memorable quests: Year 1 Tales: Frodo, Year 1 Travels: Towering Monuments, and Year 1 Trifles: Old Foes.

Drawing from my own journeys across Middle-earth, I’ll share the optimal use of our unique travel skills, ensuring you reach each objective swiftly and smoothly.

Year 1 Tales: Frodo

  1. Start from the Party Tree > Gather rememberances in Bag End just up the hill to the north
  2. Talk to Lobelia Sackville-Baggins at the front door of Bag End
  3. Ride to Hobbiton Stables > Swift Travel to Stock > Ride south to Farmer Maggot’s Farm > /pat the dogs Grip and Fang
  4. Port to Bree > Ride through the Barrow to the back entrance to the Old Forest to get to Tom Bombadil’s House > Enter and eat the meal
  5. Port to Bree > Ride to the Prancing Pony > /dance on top of one of the tables
  6. Port to Rivendell > Ride to the Last Homely House > Enter Bilbo’s room and talk to Frodo
  7. Port to Ost Guruth > Swift Travel to Candaith’s Camp > /faint
  8. Port to Snowbourn > Swift Travel to Parth Galen > Ride south to Amon Hen > /sit on the chair at the very top of the ruins
  9. Port to Dol Amroth > Ride to Caves of the Avorrim > Take Master of Horses transport to the Dead Marshes > Ride to middle of map and defeat 10 fell spirits
  • Note: You can also get to the Dead Marshes via Port to Haerondir > Ride south-west to the portal in the marshes

  1. Port to Michel Delving
  2. Port to Evendim > Swift Travel High Kings Crossing
  3. Port to Esteldin > Ride to Fields of Fornost
  4. Port to West Angmar > Ride to Rhunendin, right before the gates of Carn Dum
  5. Port to the Misty Mountains > Swift Travel to High Crag > Ride to Giant’s Needle in the Giant Halls
  6. Port to Twenty-First Hall > Swift Travel to Chamber of the Crossroads > Ride to The Dwarf-lord’s Gate in The Great Delving
  7. Port to Twenty-First Hall > Swift Travel to Hudnul-meden > Ride to Gate of the Seven Fathers in The Flaming Deeps
  8. Port to Snowbourn > Swift Travel to Parth Galen > Ride to Argonath in The East Wall
  9. Port to Dol Amroth > Swift Travel to Morlad > Ride to Stone of Erech in Blackroot Vale

Year 1 Trifles: Old Foes

  1. Port to Esteldin > Get Bounty quests
  2. from Níels near the stablemaster
  3. Port to Michel Delving or Campfire at Party Tree > Ride to Mangemaw - found wandering Rushock Bog in the Shire, need quest to spawn.
  4. Port to Thorin’s Hall > Ride to Skíthi Blackhand - found guarding The Grimwater in Ered Luin.
  5. Port to Bree > Ride to Svalfang - found wandering near Svalfang’s Hut in the Brandywood in Bree-land
  6. Port to Bree > Ride to Baugarch - found wandering the eastern section of Chetwood in Bree-land.
  7. Ride north to Jagger Jack - within the Blackwold Headquarters in Bree-land.
  8. Port to Esteldin > Ride to Morrafn - spawned after killing some Hateful Lights during a quest at some ruins within the Fields of Fornost, in the North Downs.
  9. Port to Rivendell > Swift Travel to Thorenhad > Ride to Dhît - summoned for a bounty quest; his final destination is the Stone-trolls’ Glade in the Trollshaws 9. Port to Misty Mountains > Ride south to Rothlúg - found wandering in Southern High Pass in the Misty Mountains, need quest to spawn.
  10. Port to Suri-kyla > Swift Travel to Kuru-Leiri > Ride to Farathlúg - spawned after killing two Wamtchful Ice-worms near a cave-like entrance within Talvi-mûri in Forochel, need quest to spawn.
